It is a revival memory book. In 1976, paper soldiers in Italy were already an old thing in disuse. This book ( curator Giovanni Gandini - Author Enric Siò ) consists of 35 color plates plus some sketches in black and white.

The tables' captions are written in Spanish, Italian or English. I will leave the original Spanish but I will translate Italian into English.

The boards are grouped by themes. when it is possible. Unfortunately obviously these are classic Italian paper soldiers. They have only one side.

I've tested all 40 links. They are all working now. ;-)

... Salgari is a famous Italian novelist ( especially action adventure for boys ) of the beginning of the last century ( 21 August 1862 – 25 April 1911) so his characters were often used as paper soldiers several decades ago in italy. Sandokan, The Black Corsair ...

In this book the boards are marked with Roman numerals. The pages dedicated to Salgari are all here. But of course you are right. There are many other paper soldiers' tables about Salgari's characters in Italy.

Example: paper soldiers marked "Salgari ", probably due to the 20's. Author unknown.

However I am preparing ( I still need a bit of time. A few weeks at least ) two new topics for this forum. One about the military uniforms in the eighteenth and eighteenth centuries of my country, The Piedmont. Which then was called Duchy of Savoy and after Kingdom of Sardinia. There will be many paper soldiers and even military uniforms0 tables. The second thread will be about old Italian paper soldiers. There will be other Salgari's paper soldiers there.

you are interested in them I can anticipate them to you but I need a few days. Let me know.
